Letter to keyworker families
Dear Keyworker Parents
Thank you for all your support during the time that we have been open to you. The staff have greatly appreciated all your kind words and support. Thank you for supporting us and only using the provision if you need us at half term. This has meant that we have been able to close on Bank Holiday Monday – the first day since all this began.
Next week, the provision remains the same. Children will need to bring a packed lunch please as the kitchen is closed. This will be the final week of before and after school provision.
Provision from 1st June
Going forward, regardless of any changes to other year groups we will continue to provide Keyworker care for 5 days a week if your child cannot be cared for home.
We have changed the system to bring us in line with the new government guidance as follows:
Reception and Year 1 children
- These children will be based at the Meadow Lane site.
- Times will now be 8.30am – 4pm. Please arrive between 8.30-8.45 am and do not pick up before 4pm. This is to ensure that we can manage the number of people on the premises at any one time.
- There is no before or after school provision.
- Entry will be through the toilet door or the outside door to Class 7. A member of staff will be on duty to direct you.
- Parents/carers are not allowed to enter the building so the children will need to come into school on their own.
- Parents/carers must maintain 2m social distance from staff and other households at all times.
- The children do not need to wear school uniform but will need to wear clothes suitable for varied activities including PE (no open toed sandals)
- A packed lunch will be provided for children but they can bring their own if you prefer.
- The children have been placed into 2 ‘bubbles’ and they will remain in these with the same teacher for the week. I will let you know which ‘bubble’ they are in next week.
Year 2 - 6 children
- These children will continue to be based at the Cator Lane site but not in the Year 2 unit. They will be in the classrooms in the main building on the ground floor.
- Times will now be 8.30am – 4pm. Please arrive between 8.30-8.45 am and do not pick up before 4pm. This is to ensure that we can manage the number of people on the premises at any one time.
- There is no before or after school provision.
- Entry will be through the outside door by the toilets on the main playground at Cator Lane.
- A packed lunch will be provided for children in Year 2 only but they can bring their own if you prefer. Year 3 -6 children will need to bring a packed lunch.

Thank you for your continued support. I will be in contact again next week with more details.
