Letter from Mrs Revill

Dear Parents/Carers
I am writing to inform you of my intention to retire from my post as Head teacher of The Lanes Primary School at the end of this current academic year. My last day of work at school will be Friday 26th July 2024.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents, carers, staff, governors and children for the support over the last 16 years since I became Head Teacher of Meadow Lane in September 2008. Without the support of our community the school simply would not be what it is today.
This has not been a decision that I have taken lightly but I know that, from both a personal and professional perspective, it is the right time for me to move onto pastures new and spend more time with my family and friends. It goes without saying that I shall miss all the people within our school; the brilliant staff, fantastic children, the parents and carers, members of the local community and the Governing body and I will leave with many great memories of my time as Head Teacher. Our school has grown and changed in so many ways over the years and it is amazing to reflect on my time at the school from the first day at Meadow Lane all those years ago.
I know that I will be passing on The Lanes to a new Head teacher in a very positive and healthy position. Our school is a great place to be; we have a great staff team who are committed, professional and dedicated and amazing children who work hard, achieve great results and are a real credit to our school.
I have two terms left at The Lanes and I want to assure you that I will continue to work hard until I leave to ensure a smooth handover to the new Head Teacher.
Thank you
Joanne Revill
