Changing Schools During the Year
An in-year application is for children requiring a school place during the school year, rather than at the usual transfer time. Applications must be made here through Nottinghamshire County Council.
Appeals
The Lanes Primary School is responsible for determining its own admissions and appeal arrangements. If your child is not allocated a place, then you have a statutory right of appeal. The deadline for lodging appeals allows for at least 20 school days from the date of notification that their recent application was unsuccessful to prepare and lodge their written appeal. Currently, appeals received are forwarded to an Independent Appeal Clerk who makes all the necessary arrangements for the Appeal to be heard by an Independent Appeals Panel within the required timelines. Parents wishing to lodge an appeal should contact the school (office@thelanes.notts.sch.uk). You will then be sent a form to complete and return, together with any other supporting information. This will then be forwarded to the Independent Appeals Clerk.
The appeals process is run by Nottinghamshire County Council. Please see their website here for more information including dates and timelines for the process, or contact the Nottinghamshire County Council Admissions team on 0300 500 8080.
