Dear Families

Thank you once again for your ongoing support. I know that the staff have enjoyed taking to you all this week. We all miss you loads.

The class emails are just great and we are enjoying seeing all your work and also the other projects you are doing – lots of baking, gardening, model building, singing and dancing is going on at home and you are all certainly keeping busy.

The home learning is also going well. Just to remind you – everything can be found on the school website:  www.thelanes.notts.sch.uk. Then go to Learning – Class Pages and then to your child’s year group. Then click on the Home Learning star and your daily work will be there. Please don’t feel that you need to do everything. We appreciate how busy you are, particularly if you have several children and you are trying to work from home at the same time. Just do what you can when you can.

As the children will be online a lot more during this time, just a reminder to monitor what they are accessing and who they are talking to. Also, please monitor apps such as WhatsApp, Tik Tok etc to check that conversations they ar having with each other are appropriate. If you need any advice we have put plenty of links on the website  you can contact the school office if needed. Thank you.

Over Easter we will all be having a bit of a break. The teachers will put an optional project/selection of work on the class pages or you can catch up on some of the work you haven’t had chance to do. Alternatively, chill out and enjoy spending time together – reading, playing games, being in the garden, baking, watching a good film………………There are lots of general links on the website to keep you going and we have put this document on the website too - click here to view. Send us some pictures at the end of the holiday and we can share them on the website. Teachers will not be answering emails as regularly during the holiday so that we can all take some time out.

School is open over Easter and we are now covering from 7.30am until 6pm as CHAS has had to close temporarily. As usual, the school staff have been amazing and will be in school throughout the holiday to care for the children of our key worker families. I just can’t thank them enough for their support and hard work during this time.

The school office is open every day over Easter and office emails will be checked regularly. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you need us for anything at all.
