School Closure end of Easter letter

Dear Families,

I hope that you managed to have a good Easter and that you were able to take advantage of the amazing weather. I have enjoyed being in the garden and doing a few jobs as well as being in school for some of the time. I have also spent time catching up with friends and family in a new way – sometimes it is nice to see people instead of just talking and I have taken part in some very entertaining family quiz nights! Don’t forget to send us some pictures of what you have been up to over the Easter break – it is always lovely to hear from you.

I hope you enjoyed the video of the staff with the school song. Thank you to Mrs Stevens for organising this. If you have not seen this yet, it is on the Video Messages link on the Year Group page. There is also a short video message from myself to the children on the same page. The teachers will be putting some more videos together from next week so keep your eye on the class pages for updates.

Next week we will begin putting work back onto the year group pages on the website (Learning – Class Pages – Year group). New topics will begin and new projects will be available along with the usual daily maths fluency, spelling and guided reading tasks. Your teachers will also be phoning you all again to see how you are doing and to see if there is anything we can do to help. We have enjoyed talking to you all and have loved chatting to the children too. Don’t forget that sometimes the call will be made from home so the number may be withheld or come up as a ‘private number’.

I know that it can be tricky to do the work at home so just do what you can. We are trying to keep it manageable and we will adapt things according to any feedback that we receive from you. It is important to keep some form of routine with schoolwork while we are off so that we can pick things up when we return to school. Keep in touch with your teachers through the class emails - these are now active again and will be checked on a daily basis. The teachers love to see what you have been doing and your photos have made for some lovely newsletters at the end of the week - these are shared on the Year group pages on a Friday.

Also attached with this newsletter is a Parent’s Guide to Internet Safety and a Child Health Information Guide.

As we have said before, please do get in touch with us at school if you need any help; there is always someone in the office and emails are picked up every day.

Take care and stay safe

Mrs Revill
