The Lanes Primary School has a school kitchen on each site where meals are freshly prepared each day.
It is important that you inform us of any dietary requirements before your child starts school. A form must be completed (available below) and notification of any allergies must be signed off by a doctor. We will not be able to provide your child with a school meal until this form and authorisation is complete.
Each meal costs £2.35 although children in Years R, 1 & 2 are eligible to receive a universal free school meal.
Ideally meals should be paid for in advance but we can accept payments on a daily or weekly basis. To avoid children having to bring money into school we would prefer parents to pay for the school meals via sQuid, although payments can be made by cash or cheque (made payable to The Lanes Primary School) via the school office.
We do encourage your child to try new foods, although there is no undue pressure put upon your
child. Children who have a school meal are also given a drink of water. Children are also able to stay and have a packed lunch at dinnertime. Please ensure that the contents are well balanced – no sweets or fizzy drinks are allowed.
